The important things you need to know about Tuakau Primary School are included on this page. If you can't find the answer to what you are looking for here, please feel free to contact the office and speak to Kerry.
If your child is going to be away for any reason, please ring, email or text the office, preferably before school starts. If the school has not been notified that your child is away, they will contact parents or caregivers to ensure that your child is safe.
If parents/caregivers need to take children out of school early, they must be signed out at the office.
Parents/caregivers may request an ASB account for their children through the school or any ASB branch. Children place banking envelopes in a secure box every Thursday. These are collected and taken to the bank.
Bilingual Education (Whare Manaaki)
In 2016, we will have 2 bilingual classes at our school. The Whare Manaaki caters for students from Yr 1-6. Students in these classes are taught in both Te Reo Maori and English. Parents/caregivers who wish to enrol their children in the Whare Manaaki, must commit to attending Whanau Hui each term.
Breakfast Club is held every morning from 8.30 - 8.55am, in the old Dental Clinic on School Rd. Most of the food for this is generously supplied by Sanitarium, Fonterra and Tip-Top. We are always looking for parents/whanau to help with the Breakfast Club. If you can help, please see Kerry in the office.
Enrolment packs are available from the school office. These contain all of the important forms and information you need when enrolling your child.
A birth certificate and immunisation certificate is required when enrolling 5 year olds. We encourage all New Entrants to visit Rm 5 or Rm 8 for four weeks before their birthday. These visits are from 8.55am - 12.30pm on Tuesdays.
These visits can be booked at the office.

We are very fortunate to be involved in the "Milk in Schools" programme. Students receive a carton of milk 3x a week. Parents/caregivers must give signed permission for their child to participate in the programme. Permission slips are available from the office.
All lost property items are kept in a box in the Sick Bay. These items are displayed regularly throughout the year. To ensure that items find their way back to their owner, please ensure that ALL property is clearly named.
